Some places are built overnight.
Others grow slowly — shaped by people, time, and heart.

Camp Savinja is one of them.

 

Although today it feels fresh and renewed, its story began in 1990, when Matija and Rozalija Petrin took a brave step into tourism. Back then, the campsite was part of a small tourist farm, where guests could enjoy not only nature, but also homemade food and genuine hospitality.

 

Over time, the campsite became more than just a place to stay. It became a place to slow down. To breathe. To create memories.

 

Rozalija devoted a large part of her life to the camp. She didn’t just run it — she lived it. Guests could feel that warmth, and many still return today not only for the beautiful surroundings, but for the feeling this place gives them.

The campsite was always known for its simplicity, peace and natural beauty. At the same time, it was also a place of connection — evenings filled with music and dancing, bringing together people from across the valley.

 

Then came 2017.

The gates closed.
And silence remained.

But not forever.

 

When the time came to decide what to do next, one thing was clear — this story was too important to let go. It deserved a new beginning. Not as a copy of the past, but as a new chapter with the same soul.

Starting again was not easy.
There were doubts, challenges, and a lot of learning.

None of us had walked this path before — but that is exactly what made it meaningful.

 

Today, Camp Savinja is alive again.

Renewed, yet authentic.
Simple, yet thoughtful.
Peaceful, yet full of feeling.

 

We still believe in the same idea: True luxury is found in simplicity, space, nature and in feeling welcome.
